Booth Play: scan, play, win.
Booth Play is how an EventBitz game runs at a show. The game is on the big screen, a QR code sits next to it, attendees scan it and play on their own phones, and the live leaderboard runs on the booth screen for everyone to watch. At the announced time, winners are picked live: top scores plus random draws from all players. Winners get your swag. You get the email list. No app to install, no hardware to ship beyond a laptop and a screen.
How it works, step by step
No display? No problem: the game is fully mobile.
The game runs entirely on the attendee's phone. They scan a QR code on a booth stand, a sign, or a table tent, and the whole game opens in their browser, with nothing to install. No big screen, no laptop, no HDMI. The leaderboard is revealed at the end of the event, so the draw still happens live and people stay to see who won.
Mobile-only mode works for a booth with no display, a 10x10 with no room for a screen, or a show where screen rental is not worth it. It also complements display mode: the big screen shows the game and live leaderboard while attendees play on their phones as they walk around the event, learning the product as they go.
Two ways to run it
- Display mode: the big screen shows the game and live leaderboard, with a QR code on the screen and a booth stand. Attendees play on their phones.
- Mobile-only mode: a QR code on a stand, sign, or table tent opens the game on attendees' phones. The leaderboard is revealed at the end of the event. No display is needed.
What is included
- QR scan-to-play: the game opens on any phone from a QR code on the screen or the stand.
- Live leaderboard display: names and scores on the booth screen, updating as people play.
- Email capture: name and email at registration, before play.
- Giveaway wheel: a live draw on the big screen for top scores and random winners, at the time you set.
- Winner list export: every player, their score, and their contact, delivered after the event.
Privacy on the public board
Only names and scores show on the public leaderboard. Emails stay operator-only and are never displayed. The same rule applies to the giveaway wheel: the winner's name and score show on screen, nothing else.
Why it works
The game is the draw, the leaderboard is the crowd magnet, and the giveaway is the reason to register. People stop to watch a leaderboard move. They stay to beat the top score. They register because the draw is at 4:00 PM and they want to be in it. And because the game teaches the product while they play, the conversation after the game starts from the product, not from the prize. That is the difference between a lead list and a pipeline.
What it costs
Booth Play is included in the $10,000 all-options package, or as a $3,000 add-on to the $5,000 base: QR scan-to-play ($2,000) plus lead capture and giveaway ($1,000). The prize is provided by the client. A simple branded game starts at about $5,000 and an original custom game at about $15,000, with 12 months of hosting included.
Frequently asked questions
Do attendees need to install an app to play?
No. The game runs in a browser. An attendee scans the QR code and the game opens on their phone. Nothing to install.
How are giveaway winners picked?
Two ways, both live on the big screen: the top scores on the leaderboard, and random draws from all registered players using the giveaway wheel. The draw happens at the time you announce, for example 4:00 PM or once an hour.
What lead data do we get?
Name and email for every registered player, plus their score. Only names and scores show on the public leaderboard; emails stay operator-only. The full list is delivered after the event.
What hardware does Booth Play need?
A laptop, wifi, and a screen or TV, the same as running a slide deck. Attendees play on their own phones. The leaderboard and the giveaway wheel display on the booth screen.
